Getting good coffee to the market is the most exciting part of my job as a bean slinging coffee roaster. I’m posting now to scare the hell out of anyone who thinks GreenStreet Coffee will never change. We change everyday in very little bits some days and in bigger bits in other days. It’s life and we’re a new roasting company that will change the way coffee is done for a long time to come. One of the most exciting things about being your own boss and building your own company is developing a brand. Ours is simple: grassroots, passionate coffee people that embody and desire to represent a group of people from Philadelphia and bring some of the most unique and thoughtful coffee to the market. And we’re doing it, one day at a time. I love the fact that there are a lot of brand pieces to what this company is: a wholesale coffee roasting company. We’ve tapped different designers to do different things and each have added their own style to the company. In this stage for us, it’s all about differentiation. Consistency is great for McDonalds. One logo one name one really fast and unhealthy meal. It works for them, but not for a company that cares about true quality. We’re a tiny coffee company that wants to support artists and give them a chance to bring their skills into our company so we’re trying different things and changing everyday. Figuring out great coffee is happening fast.
